Dr. Letizia Imbres
Profil
I joined the Research Group for Spatial Planning and Planning Theory as a scientific assistant in 2017. Previously, I undertook doctoral studies at Politecnico di Milano, Italy, graduating with a dissertation on the mutual influence between the changing US automotive industry and the metropolitan socio-spatial domain of Detroit. After receiving my PhD, I spent a year at Ryukoku University, Japan, studying the evolution of the Japanese automotive industry, with a focus on the Kyushu car cluster.
Since moving to TU Dortmund University, I have expanded my research interests to urban-river regeneration in old industrial regions and methodologies for international comparative research. In addition to research, my duties also include teaching courses at the undergraduate, master's and doctoral levels. I have also been a mentor in the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) since 2022.
Within the frame of the University Alliance Ruhr, I have been involved in the research and outreach activities of the Competence Field of Metropolitan Research (KoMet) since 2019. Since 2023, I have also held the role of contact person for TU Dortmund University in the Coordination Office.
